Rihanna was born Robyn Rihanna Fenty on February 20, 1988, in Saint Michael, Barbados. She is a Grammy-winning recording artist and songwriter who moved to the U.S. at the age of 16 to pursue her music career. After signing with Def Jam Records in 2005, she released her debut studio album, it was certified gold. In 2006, she released her second studio album, A Girl Like Me, which featured the hit singles “SOS” and “Unfaithful”; the album went platinum. Her third studio album, Good Girl Gone Bad, went multi-platinum and won a Grammy, featuring the hits “Umbrella,” “Take a Bow, “Shut Up and Rihanna’s fourth studio album, Rated R, was released in 2009 and featured the singles “Hard” and “Rude Boy.” It also went platinum. In 2010, she released her fifth studio album, Loud, which features the single “Only Girl (In the World).” Seven of Rihanna’s songs have hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and in 2010, Rihanna won two Grammys for her performance on Jay-Z’s 2009 single “Run This Town.” As of 2012 she released her seventh studio album which debuted as number one on Billboard 200. Early on in 2013 Rihanna went on to receive her sixth Grammy award.
