From finding big-screen success playing a Princess, to finding her real life Prince Charming, Robin Wright Penn's story reads like a modern-day fairy tale. Robin Virginia Gayle Wright was born on April 8, 1966 in Dallas, Texas. She started her professional career at 14 as a model, working in both in Paris and Japan. After finishing high school, she decided to pursue a career in acting and, after a few small roles, was cast as 'Kelly Capwell' on the soap opera Santa Barbara in 1984. Her performance on the show, where she stayed until 1988, earned her three Daytime Emmy nominations.

She made a big splash in 1987's fairy tale comedy The Princess Bride, playing 'Buttercup' opposite Cary Elwes. While working on the 1990 film State of Grace, she fell in love with her co-star Sean Penn. The pair was married on April 27, 1996 and have a daughter, Dylan Frances Penn (born April 13, 1991) and a son, Hopper Jack Penn (born August 6, 1993.) Her role as 'Jenny,' the troubled object of Tom Hanks' affections in 1994's Forrest Gump, garnered her a Golden Globe Award nomination for best supporting actress.

She has gone on to appear in such films as The Crossing Guard with Jack Nicholson, She's So Lovely with Penn and John Travolta and M. Night Shyamalan's Unbreakable with Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson. Her most recent project was the 2007 epic Beowulf, playing 'Queen Wealtheow.' On December 27, 2007, a representative for Sean and Robin announced that the couple was divorcing, but on April 9, 2008, it was announced that they had filed a petition to dismiss the divorce. With a number of projects upcoming including State of Play with Russell Crowe and the anthology New York, I Love You. We hope this former Princess lives happily ever after.
