Rod Stewart

Rod Stewart, a.k.a. Roderick David Stewart, was born January 10, 1945, in London, England. He has been an iconic singer-songwriter since releasing his first solo album, An Old Raincoat Won’t Ever Let You Down, in 1969. He has also been a member of various bands, including The Jeff Beck Group and Faces. He first achieved notable success in the U.K., where he had six consecutive number-one albums. In 1994, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Some of his biggest hits include “Maggie May,” “You Wear It Well,” “Tonight’s the Night” and “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?” Rod has been married three times and has seven children. He married his first wife, Alana Stewart, in 1979; they had two children and then divorced in 1984. He was with his second wife, model Rachel Hunter, from 1990 to 2006, and had two more children. His current wife, Penny Lancaster, whom he married in June 2007 and with whom he has one child, is pregnant. Rod also had children with both Susannah Boffey and Kelly Emberg. Rod won a Grammy in 2005, was inducted into the U.K. Music Hall of Fame in 2006 and was knighted by the Queen in 2007. In the States, he was recently ranked number 94 on VH1’s Sexiest Artists list.
