Russell Crowe


Russell Crowe was born April 7, 1964, in Wellington, New Zealand. He is an Oscar-winning actor who is best known for his performances in the films A Beautiful Mind and Gladiator, for which he won the Best Actor Oscar. When he was growing up, his parents were caterers on various Australian movie sets, so he grew used to the industry. His first film appearances were in the Australian films Romper Stomper and The Sum of Us. Sharon Stone then recruited him for her film The Quick and the Dead, which started his American acting career. Russell was romantically linked to actress Meg Ryan in 2000. He has been married to singer Danielle Spencer since 2003, and the couple has two children. He has maintained a strong friendship with actress Nicole Kidman and attended her wedding to Keith Urban. Some of his other popular films include Cinderella Man, L.A. Confidential, The Insider, Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World and Robin Hood.
