Sara Bareilles was born December 7, 1979, in Eureka, California. The singer-songwriter is best known for her hit single “Love Song,” which reached No. 1 on the Billboard chart. Sara studied communications at the University of California, Los Angeles, and was a member of the coed a cappella group Awaken A Cappella. After college, she started performing at local clubs and bars in Southern California. In 2005, she signed with Epic Records and started working on her album. She spent the first year reworking songs for the label. In 2007, iTunes featured “Love Song” as the free single of the week, shortly preceding the release of her album Little Voice, which became No. 1 on the most-downloaded list. Sara’s most recent album is Kaleidoscope Heart. Her biggest honor came in September 2009, when First Lady Michelle Obama selected her to perform at the G-20 Summit in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in front of 20 First Ladies from around the world. The Obamas invited Sara to the White House to perform at the Easter Egg Roll 2010.
