Sting, a.k.a. Gordon Matthew Thomas Summer, was born October 2, 1951, in Wallsend, England. He is best known for being the lead singer and bassist for the popular rock band The Police, whose hits include “Roxanne,” “Message in a Bottle” and “Every Breath You Take,” the band’s most successful song. As a solo artist, Sting has collaborated on songs for various movie soundtracks, including The Lion King and Tarzan. He married actress Frances Tomelty in 1976 in Ireland. The couple had two children but divorced in 1984. He then married actress Trudie Styler in 1992. They have four children.
