May 18, 1970, was the day Elizabeth Tina Fey arrived in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. In middle school, Tina did an independent study in comedy. Later, she took night classes at Second City in Chicago and graduated to try her trained wit at standup. In 1997, Tina started writing for Saturday Night Live and by 1999, she was the show's head scribe. Seeking richer horizons, Fey wrote and co-stared in Mean Girls, the film thatsolidified Lindsay Lohan's stardom. Unlike the feckless freckled actress, Tina has gone on to greater glories: creating and starring in 30 Rock, a show inspiration from her time at SNL. Tina has a trademark scar on her cheek, and she refuses to disclose its origin.
