William Hurt

He won a best actor Oscar for Kiss of the Spider Woman (1985) and has since churned out a steady stream of respectable work in an industry full of hacks and compromised talents. William M. Hurt was born in Washington, D.C., on March 20, 1950, and started acting as a youth. He has a healthy list of Oscar-caliber movies under his belt: The Accidental Tourist, A History Of Violence (which earned him an another nomination), and Sean Penn’s Into The Wild. Maybe if he hadn’t turned down the lead roles in Misery and Jurassic Park, more people would know William Hurt’s special magic.
