Celebs Party Hard After Academy Awards

An Academy Award may get the average actor a salary bump and a magazine profile, but a true display of clout is precisely how many Oscars parties one can get access to.

While all winners and nominees get an obligitory invite to the Governor's Ball, home of an extravagant Wolfgang Puck dinner and industry shmoozing, the real fun kicks off at Gradyon Carter's Vanity Fair Oscar party.

This year the likes of Madonna, Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer, Uma Thurman, Sarah Jessica Parker, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, John Hamm and Reese Witherspoon turned out to the Sunset Tower Hotel for the legendary bash.

A little ways across West Hollywood, Elton John hosted friends for ceremony viewing, then partying. Glamorous threesome Victoria Beckham, Eva Longoria Parker and Kate Beckinsale caught the show alongside Chace Crawford, Carrie Underwood, Sharon Stone and Dita Von Teese.

Prince hosted his own bash at Hollywood's Avalon with a late-night performance of the singer's classic hits and a few covers, while next door at Bardot celebs like Taraji P. Henson, Alicia Keys, Queen Latifah and Taye Diggs rubbed elbows and danced for the Purple One.

As for private bashes, Celebuzz is told Lucy Liu hosted an intimate pre-Oscars bash on Saturday with Svedka cocktails, while on the big night Madonna scooted from the VF party to the one she cohosted for the second year in a row with Demi Moore.

In attendance at that crazy bash? Nicole Kidman, Leonardo DiCaprio, Anne Hathaway, Mick Jagger, Adam Sandler, Jessica Alba and Sean Penn. The only name off that list? Robin Wright Penn.
