Gossip Girl actors Chace Crawford, 23, and Leighton Meester, 22, recently filmed a scene on a snowy afternoon in NYC in which their characters keep warm by sharing a steamy kiss.

This could present some problems for their characters’ love lives on the CW’s drama, which is set in New York’s high society.

Nate Archibald (Leona Lewis‘ video boytoy Crawford) and Blair Waldorf (Meester) used to be the crown jewel couple in Gossip Girl‘s world of sex and snobbery, but have since broken up.

On the show, Crawford’s Nate is currently seeing Vanessa Abrams (Jessica Szohr), and Leighton’s queen bee Blair is currently engaged in her on-again/off-again arrangement with bad boy Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick).

What does this mean for their characters? Are they back together? Could it be a dream sequence?

Suffice to say, nothing on the show will ever rival Meester’s real-life for drama. Ever.
