Chris Brown and Rihanna: Making Beautiful Music Together?

Mar 10, 2009 at 11:15am

Hot on the heels of the news that Chris Brown and Rihanna are both back in the recording studio comes word that the couple is recording a duet together.

E! Online reports that the singers, who are currently in the public eye due to an alleged February 8 beating incident, are collaborating on a duet that Brown hopes to include on his next album.

“They’ve been working on it together,” a source says.

Producer Polow Da Don, who has worked with Fergie and Usher, is manning the mixing board.

This is a controversial move and perhaps a bid for career salvation for Brown, who’s been charged with felony assault and criminal threats stemming from his alleged physical attack on his girlfriend in his Lamborghini after a party last month.

As for Rihanna, she’s working with producer Adonis Shropshire, who says that the songbird uses music as a way of coping with her woes.

“You have to remember, she’s a kid still,” Shropshire says. “So with anybody who goes through something in the world, you have to bring yourself out of it…I guess her refuge is her music.”
