Chris Brown’s History of Violence
As it turns out, Chris Brown‘s assault on ex-girlfriend Rihanna earlier this years wasn’t an isolated incident.
The Los Angeles Times reports that the “Run It!” singer—who was sentenced to five years probation and six months community labor on Tuesday—was involved in two other, unreported incidents “related to domestic violence” prior to the February beating.
According to a report filed by a probation officer for Brown’s sentencing, approximately three months before the February incident, Brown and Rihanna had a “verbal dispute” in Europe that escalated into physical violence, with Rihanna slapping Brown and Brown responding by shoving Rihanna into a wall.
And a mere three weeks prior to the February incident, Brown broke the driver’s and front passenger’s windows in a borrowed Range Rover that he and Rihanna were riding in, following an argument that the two had in Rihanna’s homeland of Barbados.
During yesterday’s sentencing, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg ordered Brown to stay at least 100 yards from Rihanna during his five-year probationary period, unless the two have professional obligations to attend an entertainment event, in which case he must remain at least 10 yards from the singer.

I think America is basing everything off Chris Brown. Yes he is a man and no man should hit a women. But……………. I feel whats wrongs with the whole situation is that nobody is placing any blame on her? Are we saying as Americans that its okay for a women to hit a man? She hit him and he had the scratches to show it. If you give a lick you should be able to take one… But now she is the one being abused and neglected. They both were wrong and they both should have been punished for there actions. He lost endorsements, credibility, and alot of money. Her life still continued. So is she saying to young women today that if a man upsets you its okay to slap him. If a man says the wrong thing to you its okay to hit him and he is not suppose to hit you back because he is a man??????????????

I think you are missing the bigger picture. Violence is not acceptable as a form of communication. If she did something to him as I have said before, he has the opportunity to walk away from the situation. It sounds like Rihanna and Chris have a skewed sense of communication.
He had scratches. Did you see her face? What he did to her was unspeakable. Unfortunately narcissists can disguise themselves very good.
Mature people walk away, seek help. Not rage on someone’s face. And if the situation is to the point where a woman is out of control, walk away and call the police. File a report and actually follow through to prosecution, get her help. He could have done any of those things but he chose to react in a rage that resulted in a beating. That means that any time she gets out of hand, per his definition, he has the right to wail on her. I don’t think so. Next time it would be a broken bone, a scar, death.
Any woman who is hit like she was and who wants this person back is in need of help. Somewhere the wires got twisted and she believes she either deserves this treatment or is responsible for it. It’s an epidemic in this country. Create awareness, do not be afraid to speak out (remaining silent keeps their secret safe that they are an abuser) get help.
These 2 hot heads have a toxic relationship. The forced apart “time out” (if they respect it that is) will hopefully motivate them to grow and wisen up.
Personally I don’t feel like every thing has been thrown at Chris. To me the restraining order feels also like a slap on Rihanna’s wrist making her look like a clueless child who doesn’t know how to behave as well as what’s good for her (which may be true) therefore has to forcibly be kept on the other side of the leash .
Meanwhile the court used their celebrity status to make a statement about battery. Clearly there would not be such constraining restrictive orders if they were unknown Joe and Jane.
I wholly reject the notion that a woman can behave with violence toward a man and not expect any consequences from her actions. I have never slapped anyone and I do not expect it in return. If I decide to check the phone messages or e-mails of another person, I should expect that individual would react with some amount of rage. There are some actions that are provocative so women simply should refrain from such. In one instance, we women want to be strong, independent and imposing; but, on the other hand, when we are the first aggressors, we simply want to retreat to our sense of helplessness and avoid any responsiblity for our own wrong or threatening actions. If the man reacts in kind, we are all too quick to dismiss the entireity of the person as not being a man for hitting a woman. Here is a thought, keep your hands to yourself, stop checking other people’s messages, stop trying to spy on others. If you don’t trust him, leave him.
Once again I’m late but ya’ll are stupid. It’s stupid to say it’s ok for a woman to hit a man & he should walk away. If he wants to sleep with other girls she should walk away. I’m a woman & I don’t believe the bs people say on here. Yelling at a man or hitting him doesn’t change him. But you leaving changes the situation & the future. They don’t need counseling, they need prayer!! God is the answer to your problems, not a stupid therapist. Hell, for all we know, he might go home & beat his wife. That’s what’s wrong with America today. Don’t put your trust in human, put it in God, or whoever you may pray to.
