Chris Martin on Gwyneth Paltrow: What Divorce?

Coldplay singer Chris Martin has spoken out, denying that he and wife Gwyneth Paltrow's marriage is in trouble.

The UK's Daily Mirror got an exclusive backstage interview with the boys of the band. Martin addressed not only a potential marital rift but also speculative discord within Coldplay.

At London's O2 Arena, Mr. Paltrow sat down and confessed that he and his fellow musicians have called off the tour once or twice.

"We've split up on this tour," Chris says of the band. "Each time we do, we get back together about 20 minutes later—we don't even have to announce it!"

But what about his marriage to American screen queen Paltrow? There are several outlets dying to announce those two have parted ways.

When musing on how good things have been of late, Martin says, "I'm trying to think when the last bit of bad news was...there hasn't been anything that bad for a while. I'm supposed to be getting divorced, we're supposed to be getting sued...but those things aren't happening."

Whew.

Speculation had 31-year-old Chris at odds with Gwyneth, 36, because of the pressure their union faced from a newly single 50-year-old Madonna and her influence over the Iron Man star.

Recently, Paltrow's own mother, actress Blythe Danner, said the couple were doing just fine, and simply don't prefer the paparazzi.

"They don't take pictures together if they can avoid it. It's a strategy. They don't want the pandemonium," Danner told Fox News.
