Chris Martin Has Some Jealousy Issues

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has it all. A hypersuccessful music career. Two children and a solid marriage to a famous actress. And he's even featured in one of those annoying iTunes commercials for Coldplay's fourth studio album, Vida La Vida or Death and All His Friends, which drops next week.

Yet all is not as it seems, as he tells Rolling Stone that he lives in the shadow of wife Gwyneth Paltrow's ex-boyfriend Brad Pitt. Uh, think she's over him, dude. It's seriously been awhile.

"You've got to be hungry," he says. "If your wife went out with Brad Pitt, you'd want to prove yourself, you know what I mean?"

Paltrow and Pitt had a two-and-a-half-year relationship that began when they met on the set of Seven in 1995 and ended with a terminated engagement in 1997. In an interview with Diane Sawyer in 2003, Gwyn blamed herself for their split.

Proving self-esteem surely doesn't come from the outside, Martin admits Gwyneth was his first longtime relationship. "I had a tricky time with girls until I was, like, 21," he says. "I got trapped in the friendship tip many, many times.

"It was like, 'I need to be a rock star because this is no good: Being the kind of guy everybody likes but no one wants to have sex with...I don't want to be the person that makes everybody laugh before they go off and bang. I want to be the guy everybody bangs."

We get it, man, but come on, you got the babe now—work through your fears in a song or something.
