Christian Bale and his daughter Emmeline departed from London’s Heathrow Airport without incident after a week of promoting The Dark Knight in Europe.

The young girl’s face betrayed no look of fear. And strangely, Bale refrained from verbally abusing her. Maybe he was waiting till he got on the plane.

One thing that may have calmed the voluble star is that The Dark Knight grossed nearly $239 million in just one week, shattering box office records.

But where there’s money, there will always be estranged family members who come skittering out of the floorboards like ravenous cockroaches.
