Christian Bale: Others Suffer For His 'Art Form'

Christian Bale: Others Suffer For His 'Art Form'-photo

The audio clip of The Dark Knight star Christian Bale ferociously castigating a director of photography on the set of Terminator: Salvation was released to the Internet yesterday.

An assistant director from the project has confirmed it is Bale on the clip. And damage control has begun.

In the clip from last year, Bale (who plays cyborg basher John Connor) goes into a three-and-a-half minute meltdown when director of photography Shane Hurlbut interrupts a scene.

Bale threatens to "kick his f--king ass" and leave the set unless the DP is fired.

Bruce Franklin, the assistant director and associate producer on the project, tells E! that Bale is "a consummate professional" who had "a moment."

"If you are working in a very intense scene and someone takes you out of your groove...It was the most emotional scene in the movie," said Franklin. "And for him to get stopped in the middle of it. He is very intensely involved in his character. He didn't walk around like that all day long. It was just a moment and it passed."

Tell that to Hurlbut who, in the clip, sounds like he needed a change of pants that day.

"This was my second movie with Christian, and it has always been a good experience with him," Franklin said. "He is so dedicated to the craft. I think someone is begging to make some noise about this, but I don't think it's fair. The art of acting is not paint by numbers, it's an art form. "

Bale is quickly becoming known for his volcanic temper in Hollywood.

In July, he was arrested in London after an argument with his mother Jenny and sister Sharon over his wife Sibi turned nasty. Bale was let off with a warning.

First of all I think TMZ should be ashamed of themselves. This happened months ago and shouldn't even be news now. And noone seems to care that he apologized to everyone on the set. I'm not an actor, but I have worked at a sheriffs department as a dispatcher and jail supervisor, and believe me, there were things said alot worse than this, and more than just once or twice, it happened all the time. (By the employees, not the inmates.) And we were all suppose to be professionals. What I think is awful, is someone trying to do damage with this now. Leave him alone, it's done and over, it has been for some time....

What's a few "F..CK" words on movie set.!!! Don't make a big deal out of it "gawd". It relieves tension and the stress in making a movie. It was probably just a normal day on the set. Tomorrow, it will be someone else's turn to say "F.CK" Get over it. It's no big a deal. I hope you felt better Christian afterwards. LOL LOL
