Christina Aguilera Won't Let Motherhood Define Her

on Jun. 5, 2008 12:07 PM / 14 Comments

Christina Aguilera spoke to Access Hollywood about criticism over her club, bar and party rampaging.

The mother of six-month-old Max Liron has been photographed several times in the past weeks leaving establishments a little wobbly in the knees, so to speak.

Aguilera defends her nighttime activities and says the critics are "mean spirited" and need to loosen up with a drink or two. Okay, she didn't say that last part.

Christina and crew recently hit Pure nightclub in Vegas to celebrate the launch of an "Xtina-inspired" jewelry line, the Stephen Webster Silver Collection.

In this video, Christina and a friend work the Pure balcony with hair-flipping dance moves until hubby Bratman enters. Then she sits demurely with a "Who me? Dancing and drinking? Nah!" expression of innocence.

"I spend all day with my son," Aguilera, 27, said. "If I want to go out and have a mommy-daddy night with my husband, I am more than allowed to do that."

In a recent series of photographs, Agulilera needed to be physically aided to the car by husband Jordan Bratman due to her apparent impaired state.

That particular "mommy-daddy night" must have ended with daddy holding mommy's hair back while she crouched over a toilet.

It kills me that some people still cling on to this antiquated idea that a woman's place is at home taking care of her husband and her kids. It's about time we learned to accept that yes, a woman can have a carreer, a social life and a family all at once. If she can manage all three, then why shouldn't she? Being a mother and a wife doesn't make you any less of an individual human being. The way i see it Christina is just enjoying life in every aspect and there's nothing wrong with that.

She does not deserve to be a mother. What is her kid learning from her example? Parents need to be role models, not party animals.

i think she deserves to have a night out... at least her hubby is there with her and she isn't doing anything shady.

she should have known having a baby would mean being at home a lot. a baby is not just something you can take care of once in a while. it's a huge commitment.

she goes out more than most of us do and we dont have babies...simmer down girl!

If she's not doing anything illegal or immoral, and she's not hurting herself or others, then exactly what is she doing that is so wrong? People see a couple of pictures of her dancing at a party and automatically assume that she's an irresponsable mother, because that one particular night she decided to go out with her husband instead of staying at home. People assume alot, maybe they shouldn't be so quick to judge, specially when they don't actually know the person or all the facts on how she raises her kid and manages her personal life.

If she's not just leaving him anywhere and she does spend quality time with him.. then I don't really see anything bad about it. Cause.. a lot of kids went to babysitters.. and it's kind of the same way. Idk.
