Better sit down for this; Clay Aiken comes out as gay in the October 6, 2008, issue of People magazine.

While he could have maintained his convincing veneer of heterosexuality for the rest of his natural life, Aiken decided to come clean for personal reasons—and not because of a burning desire to steal the thunder from Lindsay Lohan's recent lesbian admission.

Apparently, Clay's newborn, Parker Foster Aiken, pushed the carrot-topped heart-breaker right out of the closet.

"I cannot raise a child to lie or hide things," the issue's cover line reads.

Huh; that concept might come as a surprise to some celebrity fathers.

    I nearly dropped my loofah into the toilet when I read this. That would have been unpleasant.
