Cops Investigating Jessica Alba Vandalism Spree

Uh-oh, Jessica Alba is in trouble with the law—and not because she's so criminally hot.

The Associated Press reports that police in Oklahoma City have launched an investigation after the Fantastic Four actress—who's in town filming a big-screen adaptation of the Jim Thompson crime novel The Killer Inside Me—plastered the city with posters of great white sharks earlier this week.

The posters, which were glued to a downtown bridge and a billboard for the United Way, among other locations, were intended to bring attention to the dwindling number of great white sharks in the world's oceans.

While Sgt. Gary Knight says that police haven't interviewed Alba yet, under Oklahoma law defacing public property can be considered a felony punishable by jail time if the damage amounts to $1,000 or more. Luckily for Alba,  Oklahoma City spokesperson Kristy Yager says that the damage from the actress' postering spree is estimated to be in the $500 to $700 range.

Alba has already issued an apology for the incident, stating, "I got involved in something I should have had no part of. I realize that I should have used better judgment, and I regret not thinking things through before I made a spontaneous and ill-advised decision to let myself get involved with the people behind this campaign. I sincerely apologize to the citizens of Oklahoma City and to the United Way for my involvement in this incident."
