Courtney Love’s Weight-Loss Secret: Lying?
Former Hole ma’am Courtney Love has a new band—a gastric band that’s been helping her lose weight, according to News of the World.
The unconventional glamour girl has been slimming down lately, and despite her claims that the weight loss is due to diet and exercise, a friend of Love says otherwise.
“Courtney keeps laughing to her friends and saying, ‘Everyone thinks I’ve had hypnosis but why bother with all that effort? All I did was check myself in and have a fat band fitted,’ ” the pal claims.
Earlier, Love had blogged that she had been inspired by Oprah Winfrey, who had dropped pounds with a diet drink. “I lost weight the hard way and people can’t accept it. Whenever ANYONE loses weight by determination and grit, it’s suspect,” Love wrote. “I got my inspiration from Oprah losing so much weight on Slim Fast, that’s how I did it.”
However, the pal says that Love, who’ s “convinced she is ugly and fat,” enlisted the help of a Beverly Hills doc to fit her with the band two years ago.
“Lots of doctors refused to do it as she was nowhere near obese, just a little overweight, but eventually she found one,” the pal reveals.
Well, whatever it takes to keep Love looking her usual incredible self. Clearly, running on the beach isn’t an option.
