Cristian Still One-Armed ‘Dancing’ Machine

May 2, 2008 at 1:39pm

Chilean Dancing with the Stars contestant and actor Cristian de la Fuente suffered what initially seemed to be a severe muscle cramp during his samba performance with dance coach. The pain turned out to be a ruptured tendon, and the injury not only crimped his style but threatened to knock him out of the competition.

However, the muy caliente Latino left the decision in the hot hands of the public. De la Fuente publicly resolved to postpone surgery for his arm until the competition’s finale if viewers voted to keep him on the show.

And the audience decided it wasn’t yet ready to let go of Cristian. A tearful Shannon Elizabeth was sent home instead.

This turnabout was quite a stroke of luck for Cristian, otherwise he would have been forced to watch his excuse for wearing sleeveless satin shirts disappear before his very eyes.
