Dane Cook Ripped Off by His Own Brother
For an observational comedian, Dane Cook doesn’t have a very good eye for certain situations.
Like, say, when his own brother is robbing him blind.
The Boston Business Journal and TMZ report that Cook’s brother/manager, Darryl McCauley, was arrested by Massachusetts state police today after allegedly stealing millions from his brother/client.
McCauley, a 43-year-old resident of Wilmington, Massachusetts, is scheduled to be charged with two counts of larceny over $250, forgery, and larceny by continuous scheme. He had handled Cook’s business affairs from the early 1990s until this month. The arrest came after a two-week investigation by the Massachusetts Attorney General’s office.
According to investigators, McCauley took his famous sibling for millions. In one instance alone, he’s believed to have forged a $3 million check and deposited it in his own account.
In other news, Dane Cook has somehow made at least $3 million. McCauley will be arraigned tomorrow in Woburn District Court.
It’s doubtful that 36-year-old Employee of the Month star Cook is finding the humor in the situation.
