Dane Cook’s Brother Charged With Stealing From Him

Oh, brother, does Dane Cook have a complicated family life.

A Woburn, Massachusetts, grand jury has indicted the comedian’s half-brother Darryl McCauley on eight counts of larceny over $250, forgery and “larceny by continuous scheme.”

McCauley, Cook’s former business manager, was arrested in December after allegedly stealing millions from his famous brother between January and December 2008.

McCauley is said to have stolen money from Cook’s business accounts by transferring it into his own personal account, according to the Boston Herald. He also allegedly forged a check for $3 million from Cook’s account to himself.

McCauley is currently being held in custody, with bail set at $500,000.

Unfortunately, the one person McCauley knows who could cough up that kind of cash probably isn’t willing to help a brother out.
