David Beckham Sues Tabloid Over Cheating Rumor
According to Access Hollywood, the sexy star is suing for slander, libel and intentional infliction of emotional distress. David is suing for $75 million.
In Touch first reported that David was cheating on his wife with hookers. Irma Nici, an alleged former prostitute, told the magazine that David paid her for sex in 2007. David denies the cheating allegations and his legal team claims that he shot down the story before In Touch published it, but the tabloid continued with the story even though it was "lies," according to Beckham.
Rumors of alleged infidelity haven't fazed the Beckhams. The pair recently released a super steamy fragrance ad for their joint fragrance, Intimately Yours. Watch the hot promo video below.
Meanwhile, Irma's legal team calls David's lawsuit a "publicity stunt" and "without merit." A rep for In Touch sent Celebuzz the following statement: "In Touch published its article in complete faith in the accuracy of the story and its reporting. Notwithstanding Mr. Beckham's denial, the magazine did not doubt and had no reason to doubt their multiple sources. In Touch is confident that Mr. Beckham’s lawsuit will be dismissed."
David filed the lawsuit at the Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday.
