David Beckham, Sweaty and Ready for Men’s Health

Aug 5, 2008 at 12:20pm

Everybody’s favorite famously married soccer player, David Beckham, graces the cover and inside of the September 2008 Men’s Health, showing off the latest in men’s fashion while posing ruggedly in a boxing-themed photo-spread.

Aside from the absurdity of working out with a punching bag while wearing a sweater vest, the L.A. Galaxy’s main attraction looks pretty good. Or at least looks like he isn’t about to take your chicken-wings order.

The fish-scented soccer phenom also offers some insight into his personality. Becks confides that the soccer field—when he’s actually on the thing—offers solace from the “madness all around me, around my family” and that when he was 13 another player told him, “You’ll never play for England, because you’re too small and not strong enough.”

Guess you showed him, big man!

Check out the Men’s Health David Beckam pictorial on the right; it’s totally butch.
