Happy-go-lucky Anne Hathaway appeared on Late Night with David Letterman Tuesday night to promote her new buzz-worthy drama Rachel Getting Married.

Talking about her jailed ex, Raffaello Follieri, was probably the last thing Anne wanted to do. But, come on, everyone's way more interested in the details of her failed relationship than in her new flick!

Dave launched into it pretty early in the interview: "Now, let's talk about this ugliness...did you have any hints that there was a problem?"

"I don't want to go into the specifics but as far as relationships crashing and burning goes, c'mon, I did pretty great," Hathaway replied, being a good sport. "I mean, scorched that earth."

Letterman questioned Anne about how long she thought Follieri might serve in prison.

"I really don't know the specifics about that," she said. "I got to keep my dog! That's the thing that I focused on."
