What's this we see? The often abrasive Denise Richards actually...smiling?!!?

The 38-year-old It's Complicated star and Charlie Sheen ex looked pleased as punch as she prepared for her debut on Dancing With the Stars in Los Angeles yesterday. Even if, in her big blue robe, she appeared to be half Cookie Monster, half beauty queen.

Alas, if last night's episode is any indication, Denise's Dancing With the Stars experience hasn't been all smiles and pink fringe. Richards didn't seem to take partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy's constructive criticism during rehearsal all too well.

Buck up, little soldier. After all, it's not like you haven't dealt with difficult partners before.
