DJ AM Series To Air on MTV
One week after New York authorities confirmed that celebrity musician DJ AM died after ingesting a lethal cocktail of cocaine and prescription drugs, MTV announced that it would air a recently recorded reality series in which AM tries to persuade young addicts to go to rehab.
The eight-episode series, called "Gone Too Far," will debut Oct. 12. Though fans knew MTV had created the series with DJ AM, whose real name was Adam Goldstein, until now the network had not said what it would do with the show. MTV noted that it was proceeding with its plan to run the series "with the consent and support" of Goldstein's family.
In a statement, his family said it backed the airing of the show because it would portray "the side of Adam we that knew and loved" and that it was in keeping with their "profound belief that it will inspire others to seek help."
