DJ AM's Death Ruled an Accident

The cause of DJ AM's death has been revealed.

TMZ reports that the New York City Medical Examiner has determined that AM—born Adam Goldstein, and found dead in his New York apartment in late August at the age of 36—died accidentally, of substance abuse.

The substances in question, according to the ME's report, were cocaine, oxycodone, hydrocodone (a/k/a Vicodin), Ativan, Klonopin, Xanax, Benadryl and Levamisole, which is used as an adulterant for cocaine. The official cause of death is listed as "acute intoxication."

Goldstein had struggled with drug addiction throughout the years, and had reportedly promised to undergo rehab again in the days leading up to his death. Police found a crack pipe and a baggie of crack near Goldstein when they discovered his body in his apartment.

OMG That is ALOT of drugs. I wonder if he died just becuase he was to f*cked up for his body to remember to breath etc. Maybe he was self medicating for depression or some other mental illness. My sympathies to his fans, friends, and family.

That really sucks !! The guy survived a plane crash and dies cause of drugs !! My heart goes out to his family , friends & fans
