Doctor of Kanye West's Mother Surrenders His License

Dr. Jan Adams, the plastic surgeon who operated on Kanye West's mother the day before she died in November 2007, has surrendered his license, People Magazine reports.

According to Candis Cohen, a spokeswoman for the Medical Board of California, "A series of complaints were filed against Mr. Adams, but he chose to surrender his license instead of contest them."

In addition to two DUI convictions and failure to pay child support, Adams has also received four malpractice judgments against him between 2001 and 2007.

Adams, a Harvard graduate whose practice was based in Beverly Hills, developed a media reputation via appearances on Extra, the Discovery Channel and The Oprah Winfrey Show.

On November 9, 2007, Donda West went to him for a tummy tuck and breast reduction, after being advised against the procedures by another physician because she was at risk of a heart attack. The 58-year-old West died the next day.

The Los Angeles County Coroner eventually concluded that she had died of "coronary artery disease and multiple post-operative factors due to or as a consequence of liposuction and mammoplasty." While the autopsy report noted that "there was no evidence of a surgical or anesthetic misadventure," it also added that "multiple post-operative factors could have played a role."

Why blame the Doctor? She was told what might happen, and so she went to another Doctor who didn't know the facts....
.so damn tired of people not taking responsibility for their actions these days!
