A Downward Turn for ‘The Hills’

Aug 20, 2008 at 11:50am

Looks like Heidi Montag, Spencer  Pratt, Lauren Conrad and the gang might have celebrated a little too early the other day.

The ratings are in for the premiere of The Hills‘ fourth season (which aired Monday night), and they’re not pretty.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the series’ ratings are down nine percent among its key demographic of 12-to-34-year-olds, and five percent among viewers overall compared to the show’s season three debut.

Could America be tiring of the constant drama, even with the increased presence of the supremely evil Stephanie Pratt?

What will it take to reignite people’s interest—a gunfight?

Perhaps token Hills brunette Audrina Patridge made a wise decision with her transition into scripted projects. As for Montag, she ought to have a talk with her good buddy Jesus to see if a miracle can be arranged.
