Drew Barrymore Cuts It Short With Justin Long
Well, here’s a sad one: Drew Barrymore and Justin Long have called it quits, after nearly a year together.
The couple were rumored to be talking marriage in recent months, but not long after that, Drew was seen gallivanting around town with a mystery man. Plus, a cursory examination of Barrymore’s relationship history reveals a profound incompatibility. Consider her former beaus: Tom Green. Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti. Hole guitarist Eric Erlandson.
Justin Long? He looks like David Schwimmer‘s less-threatening younger brother. Unless he has a stack of bodies buried in his basement, he’s not nearly edgy enough for Drew.
Still, they had their moments. As Long told Vogue magazine in March, he admired Barrymore’s “Beauty and light, and she shines it on everybody who comes into contact with her.”
See, that’s the problem with high-profile relationships. When you say cheese like that, it’s not just your buddies laughing at you when the break-up comes.
Drew and Justin will be reunited briefly at least in February, when He’s Just Not That Into You, which stars the former couple, will be released.
