Drew Barrymore to Direct ‘Eclipse’?

UPDATE: Barrymore’s rep from her production company Flower Films has “no comment” on the possibility of the star helming the third Twilight flick.

Here’s some ‘Twilight’-related buzz to sink your teeth into.

Entertainment Weekly reports that Drew Barrymore is on the short list of directors being considered for the recently-announced third Twilight movie, Eclipse.

The 34-year-old actress recently wrapped up production on her big-screen directorial debut, Whip It!, starring Juno‘s Ellen Page. If chosen to helm Eclipse, she would follow in the footsteps of Catherine Hardwicke, who lensed Twilight, and Chris Weitz, who’s been enlisted to direct Twilight sequel New Moon, due to begin production next month.

Sounds like Barrymore might have her hands pretty full. On the bright side, a busy work schedule will help keep her mind off of her currently dismal love life.
