Directors are notorious for riding their actors hard, but isn’t this taking things a little too far?

Drew Barrymore straddles actress Ellen Page, whom she directs in the upcoming roller-derby epic Whip It, in the latest issue of Vs. Magazine.

The photo was taken by renowned fashion photog Ellen Von Unwerth.

Whip It, which also stars Juliette Lewis and features Barrymore in the role of Smashley Simpson, hits theaters on October 2.
