Love means never having to say you’re sorry. But in Ed Westwick and Jessica Szohr‘s case it does mean wiping your lips clean after a hot, sloppy smooch session.

The Gossip Girl castmates and long-rumored offscreen couple—recently seen canoodling at a New York Knicks game—were spotted sneaking a kiss in New York yesterday. Which is interesting enough as it is. But more curious still is the fact that the two took great pains to swab their kissers with their hands afterward.

It’s understandable that Szohr would want to apply some immediate post-smooch hygiene. After all, Westwick’s lips have really been getting around lately. Plus, the guy’s a pretty sloppy eater.

Why Westwick would be so quick to wipe the taste of Szohr from his lips is anyone’s guess. But then, that guy seems to be a perpetual source of puzzling behavior.
