In a deal worth a reported $1 million a year, Elizabeth Banks has been chosen as the new spokesmodel for L’Oreal Paris.

And, really—the star of such films as Fred Claus and Slither? Why not!

Banks, 34, will follow in the stylized, glammed-up footsteps of Beyoncé, Eva Longoria, Scarlett Johansson, Penelope Cruz and Natalie Imbruglia.

British Vogue notes that the actress, who most recently starred in the fall comedy Role Models, will appear in television and offline advertising campaigns starting in February

“I am so honored to be the newest L’Oreal Paris spokesperson and to join such a distinguished group of women who proudly say the iconic phrase, ‘Because You’re Worth It’,” Banks said in a statement.

“What impresses me most about L’Oréal is [its] commitment to empowering women. L’Oréal wants women everywhere to take charge of their beauty…health and well being.”

Preceding Elizabeth’s L’Oreal ad campaign kickoff will be the DreamWorks thriller The Uninvited, wherein she plays cruel stepmother with a dark secret.

The film will be released in theaters January 30, 2009.
