Ellen and Portia Will Do It in the Desert
It’s gonna be one grand gay gala for Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, who will become wife and wife with a takeover of the Riviera Resort & Spa in Palm Springs, California, this fall.
That’s the land of hard-partying Dinah Shore golf lesbians, for those of you not in the know.
“They said they wanted to have the ceremony in the tropical gardens by the pool and the reception in the grand ballroom,” a source told Page Six. “They will also close a significant portion of the hotel, so it looks big.”
Ellen has been talking up her “dream wedding” ever since the California court allowed same-sex marriages. “Yes, we have set a date,” she said at the Daytime Emmys. “I feel like it’s long overdue.”
So just how big will big look? Portia will certainly land a nice companion to her three-karat, $60,000 Neil Lane engagement ring, and Ellen has told the AP that “incredible people” would sing at the ceremony.
