Michael Jackson was a very troubled individual. He settled out on one of the child molestation cases for 20 million dollars. That is not something an innocent person does. He was a sick individual. That aside, his music was great, but I don’t understand why people idiolize someone like him.

Reality is that not any one of us will amount or achieve an ounce of all the good he has done in this world. He put his money where his mouth is and helped millions of people. I’m trruely devastated over Michael’s death. He had a heart of gold & a voice of an angel. To his Michael’s family I hope you nail that doctor to the wall. My little 3 year old grandson was killed the hands his doctor. So I’m all to fimiliar with this horriable crime. I believed in Michael & I would defend him anytime anywhere. I wanted to go to his concerts but i was so pour that I had watch from the t.v. It broke my heart to see him being treated so badly. I when I had to watch my grandson (Devin Michael Beres) slip away it was the worst feeling the world & now it happened to Michael. To me he’s not just an icon. He was child crying out for love. That’s pretty presumptious, to judge anyone who comes by fro afar — but you’re not thinking, you’re being emotional. Michael Jackson certainly did a lot of good in terms of philanthropy — although its easy to be a philanthropist when one is unbelievably wealthy, as Michael was. Did he give it all away to live a simple, humble life? No, of course not — he built a lavish fantasyland and indeed became infamous for his frivolous spending. Michael Jackson was an extremely complex person — rather silly of you who claim intimate knowledge of his personal life, considering he tended to guard it very strongly (er, except when he was playing the fool at a court hearing — again, he’s not easy to pin down).

He was a musical genius who stopped doing his thang far too soon (challenge me on this if you want, but Dangerous — his last great album — came out in 1991)…and for 18 years, he’s been clearly suffering from varieties of mentall illness (compounded by endless enablers, plenty of whom happily ignored his obvious problems in life only to mourn him later.

Basically, Michael had some problems. He may have…well, we don’t know, and its just not clear, but someone should have stepped in DECADES AGO. Where was his family, or all his friends? They all saw what we saw — a great talent falling apart, and nobody lifting a finger.

Whatever it means, I think we can agree that he did produce some fantastic music, and his music will outlive his infamous personal life. If theres a lesson, its this: next time we see this happening, lets step in. Get someone help. Doesn’t have to be someone famous — but don’t ignore the obvious signs of mental illness.
