Eva Mendes' Party Gets Pooped On

It was Eva Mendes' party, and she can cry if she wants to. Especially after it was unceremoniously halted midway through, Access Hollywood reports.

The event was half-held last night to launch the new Calvin Klein fragrance Secret Obsessions, for which Mendes is serving as spokesmodel.

The problem seems to spring from the chosen venue: the same New York building where Heath Ledger died of an overdose earlier this year.

Calvin Klein partner company Coty explained it all in a statement: "As a result of ongoing disputes related to the use of the contemplated space, of which it was not aware until shortly before the proposed commencement of the event, Coty felt compelled to cancel the event, as Coty did not wish to be embroiled in a dispute to which it was not a party. Calvin Klein, Inc. was not involved in the production of this event."

Does that clear things up for you? Yeah, us either.

Hmmm, and at first we assumed the festivities were shut down because Mendes' aura of radiance was blocking the exit and causing a fire hazard.
