With the release of Australia in theaters next week, fans are anxious about how the epic drama will turn out amid reports of its ungratifying ending.

Hmmm. Though the film is on track, it took a full calender year to shoot, and was padded with excessive re-shoots.

It seems 46-year-old director Baz Luhrmann focused on the texture of the background characters’ costumes, especially Nicole Kidman, 41, and 40-year-old Hugh Jackman’s wardrobes.

To painstaking director of 2001′s Moulin Rouge and 1996′s Romeo and Juliet requires every figure in every scene to have a specific look.

But even without Luhrmann’s direction, Kidman and Jackman shined off-screen at the film’s premiere.
