Roughly 90 bazillion celebrities descended on the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York to attend the "Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion" Costume Institute Gala on Monday night.

The event is apparently an excuse for the rich and famous to flaunt the most fanciful items in their closets, from Rihanna's eyebrow-raising tuxedo (above) to whatever it was that Madonna was wearing.
