After rising to Internet fame with their YouTube “Thriller” Dance, the 1,500 innmates at the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center are paying tribute to their idol the best way they know how.

After hearing about Michael Jackson‘s death Thursday in Los Angeles, the innmates rushed outside and began practicing for nine hours Friday night, and into the early morning hours of Saturday morning.

Professional choreographer Gwendolyn Lador, who was hired for the tribute dance, said they they took breaks only to eat or when it rained.
