After rising to Internet fame with their YouTube "Thriller" Dance, the 1,500 innmates at the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center are paying tribute to their idol the best way they know how.
After hearing about Michael Jackson's death Thursday in Los Angeles, the innmates rushed outside and began practicing for nine hours Friday night, and into the early morning hours of Saturday morning.
Professional choreographer Gwendolyn Lador, who was hired for the tribute dance, said they they took breaks only to eat or when it rained.

RIP MICHAEL YOUR HOME AND PAIN FREE AND WE WILL MISS YOU GOD BLESS
Rushed right outside? I hardly think so in a prison.
Also I can see why they wanted to make a tribute for a fellow child molester.
A TRUE LEGEND, MICHAEL JACKSON WAS UNDOUBTEDLY THE WORLD'S GREATEST MUSICIAN. RIP MICHAEL JACKSON. YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. YOUR LEGACY WILL ALWAYS LIVE ON IN YOUR MUSIC. YOUR ENTHUSIASM, EXCITEMENT, AND PASSION FOR SINGING AND PERFORMING IS ONE OF THE MANY THINGS I ADMIRED ABOUT YOU. I AM VERY SAD HEAR THAT YOU ARE GONE. I KNOW THAT YOU ARE NOW IN A BETTER PLACE. THAT BRINGS COMFORT TO EVERYONE THAT LOVED YOU. ~GOD BLESS
Oddly beautiful. Nice regimentation; you don't find that kind of discipline in American inmates.
despite the circumstances- i found this to be an uplifting tribute- good job inmates x)
xo
isnt this clip rather old ?
seen this before or is this a new version of it >
wow a tribute by his fellow imates where is the tribute to the children he stole their innocence from??
Beautiful tribute. Amazing organization. Magnificent discipline. How did they get inmates to work in unity in this way?
Not in a million years could this happen in a prison in the USA, I think. gh
after 5 days of being glued to web for mj content, and viewing many tributes, I found this one to be the most moving. these inmates r not professional choreographers, dancers or talent organizes. they clearly worked really hard and you could tell they had real feeling for what they were doing.omg! some were willing to be in nun's drag!amazing job! only tribute that brought tears to my eyes
I'm from the Phils. where this prison is from, this program, where inmates are to dance in an organized fashion is part of the disciplinary program of the Cebu Provincial Detention & Rehab Ctr. Just an FYI.
