First Look: Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter

No, that's not Amy Winehouse all gussied up for a night on the town. The corpse-white scare face above is Johnny Depp in the role of the Mad Hatter in the Tim Burton-directed Alice in Wonderland, currently filming.

The film also stars Anne Hathaway as the White Queen, Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen, and Crispin Glover as the Knave of Hearts.

A creepy Johnny Depp? Why not? The 45-year-old actor has spookified his good looks for Burton on many collaborations, including Edward Scissorhands, Sweeney Todd: The Barber of Seville and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

And given the fact that Depp's now making $55 million a film, it's not in his interests to care if you're a little freaked out.
