FIRST LOOK: Mickey Rourke in ‘Iron Man 2′
Here’s the first image of Mickey Rourke as Whiplash in Iron Man 2, courtesy of USA Today.
Rourke’s character wears a power pack on his chest that looks quite like the one that Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) wears.
In the sequel, Whiplash aka Ivan Vanko is a Russian who “has constructed his own version of a suit,” Favreau reveals. His gadgets include a pair of whips, powered by the suit’s glowing chest piece, that will be quite a challenge for RDJ’s character.
Director Jon Favreau explains, ”The technologies are definitely related. That’s part of the core theme of the film.”
We can’t wait to see and hear more about Rourke’s chararacter! The film won’t be released until May 7, 2010

Kind of weird looking. Have a hard time seeing such a character being able to stand up to Iron Man.
