He's coming out!
Aaron Carter just made a shocking revelation about his sexuality. Though the singer had been romantically linked to several famous female stars — including Hilary Duff and Lindsay Lohan — in the past, the younger brother of Nick Carter recently stepped out of the closet and revealed his attraction to men. Coming out for the first time, the 29-year-old told fans he identified as a bisexual, going so far as admitting to having a relationship with another man.
For as long as he has been in the public eye, Aaron Carter has been open about dating women. Most notably, the singer dated Hilary Duff in the early 2000s, but he broke things off with the Lizzie McGuire star when an alleged love triangle with Lindsay Lohan created tension between them.
In 2014, Aaron even professed his love for the Disney Channel alum, calling her the love of his life and begged her to give him another chance. “I don’t know who she is today, she doesn’t know who I am today but I would sweep her off her feet if I ever got a chance to again and fix what I did wrong,” he said. “I’m going to do everything in my power to fix those relationships in my life just like I want to fix the relationship I had with the love of my life.”
Despite having been apart for more than a decade, he vowed, “I’m not gonna give up on Hilary … ever.”
Aaron finally took the hint and let go when Hilary politely declined a reconciliation, telling him in Elle Canada, “It’s time to move on.”
Since the rejection, Aaron was linked to Trisha Paytas before becoming romantically involved with Madison Parker. He started dating Madison in 2016; the two were still together during the singer’s infamous DUI refusal arrest in Georgia.
“I wanna be married. I wanna be engaged to my beautiful girlfriend, Madison,” he tearfully told Entertainment Tonight following the arrest. “I wanna be a good father, a good role model, a strong role model.”
Despite marriage plans, Aaron and Madison quietly called it quits just weeks following the arrest. Though no reason for the split was given, a source told Entertainment Tonight the breakup was “very amicable.”
“Aaron and Madison love each other and respect one another dearly,” Aaron’s rep said. “It was a mutual decision and Aaron’s personal statement released speaks for itself. Now back to the music.”
