Bella Hadid Suffers Nip Slip During Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show
But that wasn't the only wardrobe fail of the night!
This year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was one to remember — but maybe not for the best reasons.
Aside from the disastrous production chaos ahead of the show, which fan-favorites like Gigi Hadid being denied visas to China and shut out of the high-profile gig, the runway itself was full of slips and falls that left many red-faced.
Living out every model’s nightmare, Bella Hadid suffered a brutal double nip slip when her breasts popped out of her barely-there bustier during her appearance in Shanghai. While dancing on stage with her fellow models, the 21-year-old accidentally flashed the camera as she raised her hands and exposed her chest.
“This. just. happened,” she captioned a shot of her strutting down the runway in a black bra, sheer panties, long gloves and the lingerie brand’s iconic wings.
However, Bella’s wardrobe malfunction perhaps wasn’t as embarrassing as what happened to Ming Xi, who ended up on her knees after a literal slip up! As she made her appearance on the stage, the 28-year-old Chinese model — who was walking the show for the fifth consecutive year — got her stiletto heels tangled up in her gauzy train and took a major tumble.
Unfortunately for her, the fall slightly stole the spotlight from the longtime model Alessandra Ambrosio, who was in the middle of taking her last strut ever as a VS Angel after working with the fashion giant for the last 16 years.
Like a true professional though, Ming kept smiling on the way down. She was eventually helped up by fellow Angel Gizele Oliveira.
Though this year’s ceremony suffered several mishaps, there is a good chance fans won’t see any of it when the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show airs on TV later this month. As with every year, Victoria’s Secret filmed the entire runway segment twice to account for different camera angles and technical difficulties. (Remember when Ariana Grande got smacked in the face by an Angel wing?)
The 2017 televised special will also include a special Punk Angel section featuring 22 models — making it the biggest section in VS fashion show history — and designs from the label’s collaboration with Olivier Rousteing of Balmain fame. The show will also be divided according to its themed collections, which included “Goddesses,” “Millennial Nation,” “Winter’s Tale,” “Porcelain Angel,” and “Nomadic Angels.”
