Blake Lively Looks Unrecognizable as a Heroin Addict on Set of New Movie
This is a whole new side of her!
Who’s That Girl?
Blake Lively may be know for her stylish fashion sense, but she’s not afraid to get gritty!
The 30-year-old looked like a completely different person when she stepped out onto the set of her upcoming movie, The Rhythm Section, in Dublin, Ireland this weekend. With her sunken cheeks and visible bags under her eyes, she was anything but glamorous while filming scenes for the new mystery thriller.
During one take, Blake was seen with her signature long blonde tresses tucked underneath a short frazzled wig and turquoise beanie. The All I See Is You star — who often tops Best Dressed lists with her red carpet looks — was also clad in a ragged oversized jacket and frayed pink sweats.
Gritty New Role
“I play a heroin-addicted prostitute,” she recently told Vanity Fair’s In the Limelight podcast of the dark role. “You always see that thing in movies where if a woman is a prostitute or a sex worker, you always think, ‘I don’t want the guys to be grossed out by her. We have to still make her kind of sexy… tragically sexy, but you know, music video.'”
She continued, “If you drive down skid row, that’s not what you see. That’s not the truth. So it’s really important to us to show a woman who society has written off, and society has forgotten about.”
According to the film’s description from The Hollywood Reporter, Blake plays a woman who is “on a path of self-destruction after the death of her family in an airplane crash, a flight that she was meant to be on. After discovering that the crash was not an accident, her anger awakens a new sense of purpose and she rises to uncover the truth by adopting the identity of an assassin to track down those responsible. The new, and lethal, Stephanie Patrick is on a mission to fill the void between what she knows and what she is told.”
The flick, which co-stars Jude Law and is and directed by The Handmaid’s Tail’s Reed Morano, is set to hit theaters in February 2019.
