This Girl Looks EXACTLY Like Beyoncé, Now She Can’t Lead a Normal Life
Looking like Queen Bey has its downsides
Beyoncé is one of the world’s most iconic pop stars, so you’d think that looking like her would have its perks. Well, you’d be wrong.
According to Brittany Williams, life has been somewhat of a chaotic nightmare ever since she gained attention for her eerily striking resemblance to the “Formation” singer.
While Queen Bey has a team of security guards to handle the mob of fans that follow her, the Detroit native is on her own when it comes to fending off people looking to take a selfie with the elusive songstress. In fact, she claims she’s even been harassed and chased down by the Beyhive.
“They chased us, actually, to the car,” she tells Bustle. “They beat it with their heels until we let down the window and gave them a photo — when we let down the window, though, they were singing ‘Single Ladies,’ so that was very bizarre.”
All About Bey
For Brittany, everything changed during her teenage years at boarding school when her classmates began noticing her uncanny likeness to the Destiny’s Child member. While she’s since gotten used to the confusion, it doesn’t help that she’s still constantly being approached for her looks in her day-to-day life.
“I can walk in the mall and people will freak out,” she says. “Even if they just ask for my email and it starts with the letter B they freak out.”
The Beyoncé doppelgänger adds that fans are usually disappointed to find out that she’s not their idol. Some, she says, even think she’s lying before she has to convince them that Beyoncé “would not be without her bodyguard, you know, so it’s kind of impossible for [Brittany] to be [Bey].”
“Some of them, it’s not satisfying,” she says of the encounters. “They don’t really make sense of the situation.”
Even so, Brittany finds that some “still want their pictures anyway” because she looks so much like the real Bey that people will use the photos and claim they met her.
For now, Brittany refrains from traveling at all to avoid awkward run-ins. But when she does leave her home state, she says she will try “to be as incognito as possible.”
“I’m always in a cap or a skully or sunglasses, just things that would kind of distract from people being able to make an obvious comparison,” she explains.
As for her newfound fame as Beyoncé’s look-alike, Brittany hopes to use that to her advantage to become a stylist. After all, she’s amassed over 71,000 followers on Instagram.
“To be quite honest, I have a motive outside of this noise and it’s to expose my creativeness … I’m very creative. I have an eye for design and fashion and just being a style consultant,” she shares. “If anything happens that will allow me to speak more about what I have to offer, that’s beneficial to me, but if it’s just reduced to a comparison, there’s no end game.”
