The One Party She'd Never Been to Before...
It looks like red carpet events and lavish weekends in exotic locales isn’t what Kylie Jenner really wants to be doing with her life. The 19-year-old reality superstar took some time out from her star-studded day-to-day to do something a little more age appropriate. She attended a high school’s senior prom, alongside a student who’d been rejected by the girl he initially asked. It looks like prom night really was magical for at least one person this year!
While other 19-year-olds spent the last four years transforming from awkward freshman into prom queens, Kylie Jenner spent it transforming into a mogul and super star. Although the youngest Jenner has always been somewhat in the spotlight (thanks to her famous family), Kylie’s personal brand exploded, while her peers were just going about their hum-drum lives in the classroom.
A Different Kind of Party
Sure, it was Kylie’s decision to grow up a bit faster than the average teen (and surely the decision came after a bit of encouragement from momager, Kris), but it seems that there was one part of high school life that she missed out on: the prom.
Even though Kylie has been to every kind of gala, red carpet, awards show, benefit, fundraiser, house party, club opening, album launch, and fashion show on the plant, she recently decided that nothing could fill the void of a good, old fashioned senior prom.
The Lucky Guy
Over the years, Kylie’s mentioned her desire to attend a prom in quite a few interviews, saying that it was one of the things she felt she missed out on when deciding to leave the regular school environment. Apparently, someone heard her prayers because fate intervened and the teenaged celebrity got her wish… as did a very lucky high schooler.
Her prom date? Albert Ochoa, a local student who had been turned down by the girl he originally asked and found himself without a date heading into prom night. Apparently, Kylie and her “people” caught wind of his date-less-ness and arranged big surprise for the Rio Americano High School student.
