Custody Details: Shannon Beador Officially Files for Divorce?!
There's no turning back
Struggling to Survive
Shannon Beador wanted nothing more than make her marriage work. She didn’t want her three teen daughters to feel like they were growing up in a broken family, but Shannon came to realize that she was just making herself increasingly miserable which was setting a bad example for her kids.
“You can do what you can to keep your family together, but you have to have willing parties. You need two people to make a marriage work, and that just wasn’t happening in our relationship,” Shannon explained to People.
Shannon and David Beador first split in September, but they continued to show up in each other’s social media. They attended sporting events and had meals as a family because they wanted to ensure the young girls that they could co-parent without fighting and arguing.
Then, Shannon dropped the bombshell on her fans that she would definitely be divorcing David soon. She announced the news on Twitter on Oct. 30 and revealed the news on the RHOC reunion show.
During their separation period, David moved out of the family home and into a new place. Apparently, the star has already started seeing other women. Shannon was busy finishing up filming for RHOC, but she managed to get in some time at the gym now that she’s moving on. The star ― who was previously struggling with her weight due to stress and depression ― has already shed over 10 pounds!
With a new-found self-confidence to help her, Shannon took it upon herself to file the divorce papers weeks after saying that she was leaving her husband for good.
Shannon filed “dissolution with child” papers at the Orange County Superior Court on Friday, Dec. 1. She also filed a custody declaration and income declaration. It’s believed that Shannon will seek full custody of her three children granting David visitation. She may even ask the judge to grant her spousal support.
She teared up when she talked about how she was handling the divorce on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. “There was a part of me that thought that finally getting it out there would be a sense of relief, but in actuality it made it official, and it made it real,” the star said, holding back tears. “You have good days and bad days.”
She also said that she was especially hurt to see David take his wedding ring off. She knew it was inevitable, but she said that the adjustment is painful.
David hasn’t responded to Shannon’s filings yet, but it seems that she’s got a strong support system behind her. “She has so much support right now from all of her cast members and friends. They all hated David so much and are just beyond thrilled that she finally got rid of him,” an insider told Radar Online in the wake of the news of the filing.
Shannon has been using her new-found freedom to set things right in her life. She used the RHOC reunion to make up with former friend Vicki Gunvalson (who also apologized to Tamra Judge). Can you hear that strong girl squad forming for next season?
